Med Mark - Product Criteria
Med Mark: The Mark of the Mediterranean
Products bearing the Med Mark represent the core foods and drinks of the Mediterranean Diet.
All foods and drinks included in the DAILY section of the Mediterranean Diet Pyramid (see below) along with fish are eligible to bear the Med Mark as long as they are sold in their minimally-processed state.
Other healthy foods that might not have existed years ago may also be eligible to use the Med Mark if they meet program nutrition criteria (health thresholds) for trans fat, saturated fat, sodium, and added sugar:

Nutrition Criteria:
To be eligible to use the Med Mark, processed foods (products not sold in their natural, minimally-processed state) must meet the following health thresholds (per serving):
A product must contain:
• No added trans fats in any amount (limit of 0 grams)
• No more than 8% of total calories from saturated fat
• No more than 480 mg of sodium (side items and snacks) or 600 mg (meal-type foods)
• No more than 4g of added sugar (or about 1 teaspoon)
